Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions

We are so excited Coal has finally found his Lifelong home! Coal was adopted by Dave & Nancy Raves of Leander. The Raves have adopted from us several times, cats and dogs. Coal has two senior dog brothers and a cat sister. Coal also gets visits from their twin grand daughters.

Has a photo of a particular dog or cat tugged on your heartstrings? Would you like to get to know that animal a little better and contribute to his or her care here at the shelter?  For a small monthly donation you can virtually adopt that animal! We will send you an information package with a photo of the pet, how they came to live at the shelter, their birthday, and what they like to do during the day.  Once or twice a year we will also send out an update on the pet.  You can come down to the shelter to meet the pet and get your photo taken with him or her, or bring them a special toy or blanket or some treats.  If the pet finds its forever home we will notify you right away so you may transfer your donation to another pet at the shelter.  To get started just select a dog or cat, choose the sponsorship level, and click on the Sponsorship button on the animal’s profile page.

We are always looking for more volunteers to help take care of our cats and dogs. Cat care taking involves scooping litterboxes, feeding cats, giving medications, and takes about 2-3 hours. We like to have our cats taken care of in the morning. Dog care taking involves hosing down dog kennels, feeding, giving medications, and walking. There are 2 shifts - 7am and 5pm. The morning shift takes about 6 hours, while the evening shift only takes about 2 hours. There is also an opportunity to walk dogs starting at 7am, 11am and 5pm. YOU MUST BE 18 OR OVER TO VOLUNTEER WITH US. NO EXCEPTIONS. Contact us for other volunteer opportunities.
